Ahhhh I'm heartbroken. It was my first we car that I planned to keep forever. Even though I don't use it anymore it was sentimental.

Re: Someone Just Drove Into My Car ARAGAHDGDJJ!!
Lol I couldn't be bothered with that tbh. Plus I had a guy do that on my when I was 17 and if he'd got away with it he'd have messed up my insurance for years.

Actually you're wrong there. The insurance companies take the mick with the excuses they use for putting up peoples money every year, they make HUGE profits and are basically just greedy. Don't be fooled by the claptrap they come out with about anything. I'd squeeze every penny I could out of them if it was me.

That is true in the case of domestic and structural insurance due to flooding etc, but the fact remains drivers (especially young drivers) are getting fleeced year in year out.

i cant call myself a young driver now but then again neither can you
i just dont like to think we are turning into a claim forevery thing state if people only made claims that were genuine i believe we would all benifit

Re: Someone Just Drove Into My Car ARAGAHDGDJJ!!
Seeing as car insurance is (understandably) mandatory, there should be heavier regulation on how much they can charge. In an ideal world, it would be part of the car tax charge and not run 'for profit'!

Re: Someone Just Drove Into My Car ARAGAHDGDJJ!!
It was my first white car Warren, just a wee white fiesta but because it was my first car I've kept it. I've another car so I'll not be house bound.
You'll not believe this, it will really sound like I'm winding you up. I just went to the man's house to get insurance details etc, he is 99 years old

Thanks Tara.
On further inspection the front of the car which is all one panel is totally destroyed, wheel rim is damaged too. But it coulda been way worse.
If Logan was in the car

Re: Someone Just Drove Into My Car ARAGAHDGDJJ!!
Ahh poor you, sad thing is the cost of the repair will probably be more than the car is worth so might get written off?
I can't stand old drivers they're the worst of all drivers, they need to do compulsory refresher courses or something to keep them and others safe!!
Glad your ok and Logan was safely out of harms way!!

Re: Someone Just Drove Into My Car ARAGAHDGDJJ!!
I think the wee car will be ok. It's got no miles at all really and is real clean. I think a panel and maybe the wheel touched in will sort it.

I had a car crash 10 years ago that I am still suffering from, please Matt make sure you are OK health wise. Maybe an idea to get a check up from your GP anyway. Would you be claiming the cost of the damage to your car through your insurance , have you notified them yet ??

I'm too much of a softie tbh and don't want to go through the wee man's insurance. His grandson contacted me and said could he just pay for it because his grandad would never get insurance again if he made a claim because of his age. The wee man said he had never had an accident in his life and just made a mistake.
So I'm just gonna take them for what they said and let them pay. He only lives down the road from me it turned out so he'll not go too far.
Not the end of the world, just a big inconvenience. Because it was a hatchback it was good for Logan in the boot as the other car is a saloon and he can't go in there.

awww poor matt and the car! what car is it?
i agree with some over with regards to claiming, i have recently had a claim made on me, i did not do any damage and he had a can i had a Citroen c2 at the time, had to make a statement etc felt like a criminal. think he won but he gets min amount but its still pants if you dont need to claim i always advise not too.
hope your ok tho

When I passed my test I bought a wee white Fiesta and because it was my first car I decided I'd keep it forever. It only does a few miles a day for walks because I've another car for work.
But it was a lovely wee car and spotless. It'll be fixed though

I tend to agree if I'm honest.
But I didn't wanna get in to that with him, not really my place. As long as I get my wee car sorted I'll be happy.
And I'm fine, thanks for the concern

Someone deliberately tried to run into me yesterday. I pulled off at a roundabout and some guy came flying across from the right and sped up when he saw me. I'm sure he wanted us to hit so he could say I pulled out on him. I put my foot down and we just missed each other. Lunatic anyhow, I'm glad your ok and I hope your car is sorted soon ><
