Thanks! Indeed, sometimes praise and treats is all you need. I managed to teach Prince to play fetch and to lie down (he doesn't always listen with the lie down command though, there are some floors I think he doesn't like to lie down on, especially when it's wet) very quickly just using the two.

your doing well to get a staff to lye atall as there notorious for not being submisive its not in there nature lol

I must have a different kind of staff then cos charlie is incredibly submissive, but only with me, not my husband or anyone else.
