The advice most people give, is to get a dog. However, if your girl is laid back, I don't really think it matters. As long as she and the new dog are introduced in a sensitive manner then it's likely that any combination will work out.

You know your dog, so think about whether she has any problems with other bitches or dogs out on walks. Make your decision based on her personality.

Generally people would say a dog as they are less likely to fight, but all dogs can fight if they don't take to each other. Do you want a puppy or woudl you consider a rescue? If you were to go the rescue route, they would want to make sure your dog gets on with it.

Have a friend with two girls and a male and all is good. I have both too and its fantastic. I love marleys male characteristics but my lil girl laska is a sweetheart that doesnt leave my side. They play together great and they dote on each other so much. Id say mix sex if you can.

Growing up we had 2 males and never a cross word ... I would probably get one of each but both sexes can be just as good Smile

we went for 1 of each as good general advice , it doesn't guarantee you are problem free though and ours do have major spats from time to time which they seem to be growing out of. Generally great company for each other Big Grin

I have only ever had one of each and never had a problem. Even took 2 pups from the same litter, a brother and sister which everyone says is a no.no. but it worked well.
