They're pretty much all like that. Not all of them are quite as extreme, but most of them are similar. It's a shame.

Doesn't look very comfortable to me the face must get itchy poor dog.

They're quite prone to infections inbetween the folds.

I absolutely love neo's and plan to get a working bred neo once we've moved and have more room for one!

There are some that bred to over exaggerate the wrinkles and they are very unhealthy dogs

I like mastiffs in general. Very powerful dogs! Also gentle giants.

But yeah, with all breeds there will be breeders who ignore the health of the dog so that they can achieve more aesthetically pleasing offspring. It's a shame, really. In my opinion, the working neapolitans are far better looking than show-style ones anyway.

Looks like it could have some major skin probs with all them folds...can't be nice for the dog

Owners need to pay extra attention to keep the folds clean. It annoys me when people buy that sort of dog and don't read up on grooming. They assume a quick brush over will be sufficient every couple of days, because it's a short-coated dog. Eyes, ears, and folds of skin should all be checked regularly.

I know a neo called Blue and OMG i'm in love he is gorgeous. he's a working bred one with much much less wrinkles.

I plan on doing schutzhund in the far of future and would like to with a couple of breeds, neos being one, but ambulls, cane corso and such as they are all dogs i want from pups

I love the working breed. I was talking about it to mum just now. Such impressive dogs!

I saw a video a little while ago of a neapolitan doing schutzhund! Can't find it now, sadly, but it was amazing! I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that!

haha love it

this is why i do not like showing at high competition level as with any animal they are always manipulated and this is very rarely for the animals health! whether its breeding for a look or enhancing something specific in there ability, like the Tennessee walking horses gate, they enhance this with barbaric methods.

half of the time these poor animals are just a job, not competed/breed for the love of the animal.

I am so against this sort of thing and really get a bee in my bonnet over it all! grrrrrrr
