So Ramsey weighed in at 17kg today. He is still 16'' and hopefully wont get any taller.
He's 6 and a half months old so hasnt filled out yet and neither has his head obviously. -->>-->>

Bandit, when he was at his fittest (around 18 months-24 months) & being shown was around 19.5 kilos. Not skinny, but you could just see his ribs.

Re: 17kg
It is.
At the moment staffords don't get weighed or measured in the show ring! But in those days there were far more 'larger' staffs in the show ring than there appear to be now.
I don't think weight is too much of a problem (as long as the dog isn't fat!), it's height that can be difficult as a top height stafford will sometimes look even taller if he's shown with smaller dogs.

Kenny's 2 in may and his weight often goes between 19-20kg, but he is 18 inchs
I think your boy has proberly hit his height. I was always told 9 months on the body and the 2nd 9months on the head.

Re: 17kg
Jason what have you been feeding him? My boy is still at 15.5kg and everyone says he looks perfect at this weigh, but then again he's a very short staffy...
I also think the scales at my vets are messed up sometimes I go there put him on the scales and it says 13kg so I move him a bit more to the middle and it says 15kg, weird.

He's been on Royal Canin up untill today. Ramsey will probably end up being about 22kg when he's fully grown.DragonTheStaffie wrote:Jason what have you been feeding him? My boy is still at 15.5kg and everyone says he looks perfect at this weigh, but then again he's a very short staffy...

Your boy is probably shorter which means he'll be lighter but still be in good shape obviously.
Yeah those vet scales sound really dodgy lol. Maybe try another scales and see

Re: 17kg
Yes the scales thing happened when I went there last time which was a few days ago at first I was shocked, he couldn't of lost weight as he is fatter than he was, so i moved him and the scales went up to 15kg ... The thing is there's no other vets near me so I can't use any other scales
Yea my boy is a short staffy, not by much though just a little bit shorter than most Staffys I've seen, when we first got him so many people said he was to skinny and now everyone even the vets say his weigh is perfect the way it is.

Tank is 18.5kg of solid muscle ! He's about 15.5inch tall. 11mths
The vet picked him up at his last check and said 'omg he's just solid' 'not an ounce of fat on him'
Whereas my girl Diesel is 22kg 17inch tall and 23mths old, she's got a bit of fat on her but still has a nice tuck to her tummy.

If you have scales at home, stand on them, make a note of the weight, then lift up Dragon and stand on again so you can find out his weight

Either my eyes are playing tricks on me, some of these pictures are somehow decieving or the scales at my vets are also dodgy.
I had stig weighed today on a trip to vets after his fight with a combination of overgrowth and barbed wire, he weighed in at 17.4kilo, he's quite short in length and height and compared to say Ramsey and Bailey his legs are quite thin too, am I missing something or should I weigh him again?

Re: 17kg
I don't know what Kuchar weighs (at nearly 14 months) and nor do I care really, as all that matters to me is that he is fit and healthy and not too fat and not too thin. I expect I'll find out next month when we go to the vet for his first booster jab.

Re: 17kg
well I care because its an indication of what he'll be when he's older, so its nice to know and understand now imo.

Hi Jason this thread https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t31144-a-few-pictures-of-stig has a few in the bottom couple are the most recent taken a couple of week back roughly, the most recent one is him stood on the skate ramp, it's dark but if you go to the bottom of the page Taryn did a really good job of brightening it up, gives quite an accurate idea of his size aswell
