why could this be?

everytime i try train my older dog he backs of when i try give him i treat he loves food but im practicing his re call at the minute he will come to me but wont get the treat i dont understand im using little cubes of cheese what he loves my younger dog is doing excellent in training and he just watches not bothering ??

Are you only treating him when you call him back and then put him straight on the lead? This could make him reluctant if he knows that as soon as he has taken the cheese he will be back on the lead. They are pretty clever dogs, I know mine out smarts me quite often.

doing it in my garden and no not putting lead back on him lol just treating him if he comes when called
