HELP she keeps fouling inside
Hi, my staff is comming up to 3 years old now, she's a lovely dog very loyal and very caring, however for the last 3 nights every morning we've woke up to foul on the floor, we did try her on a new meat food to compliment her biscuits and I understand it takes some adjustments but surely it shouldn't make her pee over everything, I'm really clueless how to treat this behaviour so she learns its not acceptable without getting the wrong message. Could really do with some advice as I feel like she's taking over the house. Also to note she's let out 3or4 times a day

Re: HELP she keeps fouling inside
Hi, welcome to the forum.
If it's just pee, then I'd be more inclined to say that she has a UTI - a urinary tract infection. If that's the case you'll need to get some anti-bs from the vets to clear it up.
If she's pooing indoors, then that could well be the change of diet - it can really muck their stomachs up. The way round that is to take her back to her old food & then very gradually add the new one over a week or two.
You say she's let out 3 or 4 times a day - does she not go out with you for long walks?

Welcome to the forum!
How was she with this issue before the last few days, ever any problems? Have you changed anything in her diet that might have started this.

A change in diet can often lead to accidents it may be all that is needed is a little time, Has her routine changed at all? sometimes changing her walk times can be a problem too. I would make sure she does her business when out walking. On a more serious note it could be a bladder or bowel infection so if it continues it may be worth a trip to the vet.
Hope she gets over it soon.

What you need to understand, though, is that she isn't doing it on purpose, neither is she trying to take over the house. If she's always been clean before then there will be a definite reason for this to be happening.

Re: HELP she keeps fouling inside
Have there been any other changes to the family home to cause any frustration or confusion which may explain this new behaviour ??

Re: HELP she keeps fouling inside
hey, don't stress over this, my friend has a mastiff bitch who is 5 years old. the exact same was happening to her as well, she took her to the docs and they gave her a course of antibiotics and it soon cleared up. Id make sure she had plenty of fresh water down as with humans this is a natural 'flush' when we have urine infections. or may be as kathy said is there a trend to this? is this only happening through the night or day as it may be due to her been anxious or may be something outside is scaring her?
