Hi all,
Dog insurance is mandatory in Spain, but I think it's not in UK, is it?
Thanks

With the price of veterinary charges it is advisable but not compulsory. Vet bills here can and often do run into thousands of pounds so it's a good idea to have it in place. We have Rocky insured.

Re: is insurance mandatory in UK?
Thanks,
I have Murphy insured since he was a puppy. He's 2 y/o since Sunday and, due to some skin issues in his first year, insurance has increased from £22/month up to £42, covering £1500 with £75 excess.
Since this is pretty high I was considering putting apart £1500 by myself and considering that Murphy's insurance, so I don't need to pay £42/month.
What do you think about it?

Re: is insurance mandatory in UK?
Its a difficult one because as you have already claimed no insurance will touch that condition. For the amount you are paying I am guessing you have life time cover, also the skin issues sound to be more to do with being a pup. I would shop around for a better deal myself, but I have to put money away as I have claimed and didn't have life time. I hope that makes sense Xx
