lexie
Hi, my name is scotty, we have just taken on a 6 month old staffie. partly for my valentines present off my wife and partly for my sons 3rd birthday. ive always wanted a dog but wanted to wait until our son was old enough to help etc hoping that it will help calm him down as well so he will leve the cat alone (doesnt lik cuddles lol)
anyway we have been looking round the dogs trust and rscpa locally but they never want one to go to a family with a young child. we came across lexie who was needing a new home from a family locally who couldnt look after her any more.
we went to see her a few times last week and then picked her up last night. the previous owners taught her to jump up etc and didnt stop her from mouthing so we are starting to work on that. she also didnt go out on the leed to much although she seems really social. she is brilliant with our 3yr old and doesnt chase our cat, although he runs a mile at the mo lol.
will get some pics uploaded of her this week, and will be using the forum to help us train her

Re: lexie
I really love hearing about a rescued staffy, and although be it on early stages, settling into a new home. Shes so young that I believe any bad habits can be very quickly trained out and they make amazing family pets!
Look forward to any pics and advice needed or given!

Re: lexie
lol she better not
she doesnt even jump up on the sofa .....yet, she sometimes has a little nip at the cusions but i think its because she can smell the cat on them.
she loves that rope toy, she sits in front of us and shakes it about so that it hits our legs until we play with her lol, she follows my son all over the house with it, good job he has as much energy as her!!

Re: lexie
Love it, Lexie sounds fab, and yes it was a joke about the sofa, Moo was also rehomed from a family, I didn't let her up on the sofa for the first month, I'm affraid she is now fast a kip on my bed! How things slip lol!
She sounds like an amaxing addition, nice one and many more happy years as a family, and yes, your 3 year old can keep up! I can't lol x
