tia's first attack :(
for you that havent seen the picture of tia and my neighbours staff together for the first time then i will quickly explain, next doors staff is 12 or 14 years old, very grumpy and dont like other dogs tries attacking them through the gate, due to not being socialised from previous owner, we never let my neighbours dog phoebe or tia meet due to this. always made sure the other dog aint out when letting out the other for pee's (we have a shared front yard, no back garden) but about a week ago my son opened my neighbours door and phoebe got out, to our surprise they got on like a house on fire, but today wasnt so good, we was in the kitchen in my neighbours and next minute we heard tia yelp really loud, we went running in (unfortunately not seeing what happened) and she was walking towards us really low down, yelping lasted for about 2 mins, her left eye looked a little bloodshot, but i cant say for sure if it was a bite to the face or not checked her all over and no marks or blood. she wouldnt go near phoebe for ages, then about hour later she was back playing with her, but im calling her away now and then as tia is all over her being a pup and getting excited. poor baby seems her normal self, so hoping there is nothing wrong, thinking maybe phoebe was warning her to back off.

Re: tia's first attack :(
Sounds very much like a warning as you said. I'd be careful as the other dog may really not want other dogs around her. Logan had some run ins with badly socialised dogs as a pup and if I could turn back time I'd have really avoided it.

i know but its hard having a shared front yard apart from that they have been brill together, but i dont want to risk it again after today, this may be a warning, but next time could worse. such a shame though

Probably a warning. The oldies can be a bit grumpy and not willing to tolerate a puppy's playfulness (Loki had to have a few near-bites before he learnt this, the idiot ), but they don't tend to take it to heart for the most part. She'll be OK, probably just a bit more cautious and more willing to pay attention to the other dog getting annoyed.

Re: tia's first attack :(
Bacchus got a nip from one of his friends last week. Luca is a black lab we often meet on our walks and he has warned Bacchus a few times for his boisterous behaviour. The nip calmed him down and he played nice after that, well as nice as a staff pup can play. Be interesting to see if he remembers next time we meet Luca. If so it will be a lesson well learned.
