Who ate all the pie's !
Really proud of hubby, he hasnt smoked since 1st January. He's looking well, eating alot, keeping busy by walking Kenny alot more (he walks him twice and i walk him once a day). He's now getting an extra walk, so thats 4.
I getting very jealous of their little bond lol. So, earlyier on, i was in the living room and Carl and fat boy Ken were in the other room, both very quiet. So, i went to check on them, thought to myself they've fallen asleep again. No, there they were, both with Apple pie and custard , Carl didnt think i would want some, so made Kenny a nice big bowl .

That's hilarious Kenny's getting the good food. Well done to your husband for getting healthier though, good for him and good for Kenny by the sound of it

Re: Who ate all the pie's !
It's not easy stopping smoking, nearly a year for me and it's still a struggle at least once a day, but only for 5 mins then it goes, lots of support and distractions is the way, good luck to him

Re: Who ate all the pie's !
I stopped in 1991. It's not easy but, one day at a time. One little tip........when hubby is out and someone offers him a cig, tell him not to say " I've stopped" as smokers will try to tempt him. Better to say " No thanks, I don't" and they tend to leave it at that.
Bacchus is the first dog I've had since I stopped and I've lost 10lb since I got him just by walking him. ( About 2-3 hrs a day)
Every day he is off them the easier it will get, but every now and then he will get a brief craving, but the longer he has been stopped the less frequently this will happen.
Good Luck.
P.S.
It's much easier than raising a staffy

Well done hubby for quitting the smokes, my Dad stopped a number of years ago although I thought he never would. He did tend to pile on the weight a bit since then though, it's something you have to keep an eye on.

Lol love it !
I stopped almost 4 years ago, almost killed me, I had a massive asthma attack and was hospitalised for a few days on oxygen. Haven't touched one since.

Re: Who ate all the pie's !
Oh it's easy to stop smoking - I've done it hundreds of times
OK that's an oldie, but a goodie (well I think so anyway).
So well done Kelly's hubby!
The thing is to have the determination but also the feeling that "the time is right". I'm waiting again for those combination of circumstances to give it my annual go. Not that I look up to my ex-hubby or anything but he was 60 a day man, and he quit (why and how he did it, well the stories vary ) but he has been "clean" now for 8 years, and if he could do it, I can (manyana, manyana).

Re: Who ate all the pie's !
Mmmm Kelly - it's an idea!
But (and here come the excuses which I can always find to keep on the evil weed) - my very elderly mum is not well at all at the moment - the weather's awful - my bank wants to see me next week - I've got a painful shoulder that won't heal - my 13 month old puppy is still being a little s*d around the house - oh I can find all sorts of reasons! It's just not "the right time" for me at the moment.
Bring on the summer and I might take you up on that (providing that our "right times" coincide!)

This is my biggest problem with my OH being not ready but she then reminds me about how she stopped the second she found out she was expecting Jenny and I "wasn't ready" so carried on delaying and delaying until all of a sudden Jenny was born , and the OH had bought 10 fags with the intention of that being the first thing she would do after popping Jenny out (sorry Girls ) as soon as she had a moment

Your OH will never be ready. Take it from an ex smoker, the only way is to set a date and stop, then take it one day at a time. The biggest problem for most people is that they think it is going to be more difficult than it actually is and they expect to fail. A good incentive is to treat yourself to something you consider a luxury and pay it on credit using the money you would have spent on cigs. I bought my first SLR camera this way.
Good Luck.
