Not impressed..................!!

So as you have all been reccommending raw and my recent thread on raw bones as treats i thought ill just pop into the butchers i use every now and again.....

So off i pop in and explain that im thinking of feeding raw inthe future but for time been i want raw bones for treats and been reccomened lamb spine or chicken ..............first thing he says is 'what breed is it' well my reply is 'staffordshire bull terrier' to the butchers reply 'nope nope nope i can guarntee that will make it savage;!!!! so as you can imagine this got my goat up. so i asked him are you a staffy owner to his reply 'no' have you ever owned a staffy 'no' so on what grounds can you tell me that this will make my dog savage!!!
well there a horrible dog, vicious all they ever do is atack and kill kids and should be put down and i am irresponsible for owning one!!!! to my reply of shove your business were the sun doesnt shine!!!

What a pigging cheek seriously am so upset, got so embarressed and every one was bloody looking at me

Staffys are considered to be very good with kids, and in my area I've never heard about a staffy attacking a kid.
In every website I go about dogs and it says what the breed is like it always says staffys are very good with kids... some people are just dumb.

What a twerp. You shouldn't be embarrassed, I'd have responded in exactly the same way, as I'm sure everyone else would.

At least he's lost you as a customer, get all your local friends to boycott him, or host a sit in...xD

Sounds like sheer ignorance on his part. Doubt he has a clue what Staffies are really like. Bet he has never been near one

Sorry Rebecca, it must of been difficult for you, as Eris say boycott him, but it is funny how knowledgeable some people are, once staffies taste blood they attack mjueuudeeyqi oops sorry i was fighting Cassie off my throat

hey dnt apologies, haha that last part made me chuckle! am just really fuming, it was more the point that he put me on the spot and made me look small could have of picked up his grotty pies on the counter and caused him harm.

Made me quite angry reading that. I must say if it were me the butcher had been having that conversation with I would not have been quite so reserved with my response! haha

I know, my response would have of been alot harder if it was just me and him but i thought knowing my luck the other customers would a jumped in and they woudlnt have of wanted to see my muscles!!

Oh that's so funny, my mum said the same thing when I told her I was going to feed Loki raw chicken wings. Not the breed-specific part, just the "Oh no, raw food makes them go wild, he'll start attacking us" silly mum. Honestly, just ignore him and find somewhere else. I mean, he's not the one with a loving Staff-shaped friend in his life, so his opinion means nothing.

told my OH when i got in, he found it funny and wants to go ask again!!
