Hello you lot!
Hi!
I thought it was about time I signed up and introduced myself since ive been lurking around, borrowing knowledge from here for quite a while.
Im Richie
I'm from Sunderland in the north east of england
and this is my new best buddy "Buck"!
I've been around dogs all my life but never owned my own and ive always had a soft spot for staffies so with me recently getting my own place i decided it was about time i took the plunge (after a lot of research of course)
so 2 days ago i went to take a look at a litter of 10 pups literally just around the corner from my new home and chose this little guy as soon as i entered the room
his brothers and sisters were all adorable black and white pups but buck was the only pure white, he was also the most boisterous and playful
he just seemed like a proper little character so i practically threw my money at the owner/breeder and took him home before anyone else could haha.
i have no idea if hes a pedigree. i didnt expect the pups or parents to be when i went to view them (it wasnt mentioned in the Ad and i didnt even ask about it til the owner brought it up)
the owner did tell me that the parents were pedigree and that the litter of pups had all just been registered with the KC so i could return in a couple of weeks to collect his "papers" but i didnt ask to see their papers or anything so i guess we shall have to wait and see. either way im not fussed. his parents looked the part and hes looking and acting like a staffy so im a happy man
anyway! ive rambled enough for now!
looking forward to chatting to you all about all things staffy!

Re: Hello you lot!
Welcome and Hayley's right, but don't let it bother you, what's done is done, and I'm sure you don't regret getting Buck. It's just a life lesson to learn from for in the future. I got Loki under similar circumstances and I wouldn't trade him for anything. And Buck is so cute

Re: Hello you lot!
Thanks for the warm welcomes
i realise what hayley means. and i dont disagree with her.
it was pretty stupid of me to not ask for proof of pedigree but (and i know im going to sound even more stupid here) a piece of paper means nothing to me really. buck is important to me regardless of how pure he is. his parents looked great and they were healthy, as were buck and his litter mates and that was enough for me really. i spent quite a while there, playing with the parents, watching/handling all the pups and talking with the "breeder" and i was happy with what i saw. i have no intention of breeding buck so his "purity" doesnt matter.
there are definately no regrets here i promise

Re: Hello you lot!
He looks like a lovely boy. I love all white Staffords.
Even though on the wider scale of things papers don't really matter unless you plan to breed or show, it is still nice to have them. Especially as the breeder said you could collect them. If I were you I'd make a point of calling round in a while and trying to get them.
Either way, he looks great

Re: Hello you lot!
funny you should say that mat...
the owner just added me on facebook haha
checking to see if buck is settling in okay and stuff so thats a good sign
so i'll enquire about papers
also means ive managed to grab a few additional photos of buck from before i got him
welcome to the world (just after birth)....
there were 10 in the bed and the little one said...
first solo picture of him...
with his dad...
and oddly enough...
according to the owner, buck was birthed in the same sack as this all black female
like a set of twins in a litter of 10
never heard of that before :s
the rest of the pups were black and white
