Re: Some more pictures of my boy! :)
Well, I have 3 collars for him, but they're way to thin and because he's got a really fat neck it always looked like his neck was coming out of the collar, so I searched on eBay for a bigger (thicker) collar and i found this one, I thought it would suit the markings he has so I bought it, it's not about the spikes Dragon is a softy with people as soon as you go to touch him he gets on his belly for you to rub his belly

there are collars out there that are 2" wide which that collar looks like that don't have spikes on if you wanted any more

Re: Some more pictures of my boy! :)
After I bought the collar I got told about the collar Ramsey has on (forgot the name now) and thought they were nice but for now this collar is still very new so would be a waste of money, so I'm waiting for this collar to get a bit older to buy another one, might buy a blue one just unsure if it would go with his color that's the problem with buying things online.

What are the names of the collars or a website so I can have a look, I've been thinking about buying a new one since some people I use my dog for fighting etc (just because of the collar which is stupid).ella wrote:DragonTheStaffie wrote:Well, I have 3 collars for him, but they're way to thin and because he's got a really fat neck it always looked like his neck was coming out of the collar, so I searched on eBay for a bigger (thicker) collar and i found this one, I thought it would suit the markings he has so I bought it, it's not about the spikes Dragon is a softy with people as soon as you go to touch him he gets on his belly for you to rub his belly

the collar doesn't bother me i just like to have a few different ones
i personally use collars from these:
http://www.indi-dog.co.uk/
http://www.strongstuffdoggear.co.uk/#HOME
but there are collars on ebay which are extra wide without spikes and whatever colour you want

Lovely lookin boy ... I have to agree about the spikes if I'm honest
I also use a 38mm thick leather/brass collar from AECollars, and a 2" from Strongstuff ... both brilliant quality

I'll have a look at them now
My boy hardly uses his collar, only on walks and at the park but whenever he's indoors we take the collar off

I've got one of them AECollars, didn't know they were called that as I bought it on eBay, I've also got a harness, but the collar is way to thin so his neck comes out of it I've been looking at Ezy Dog Collars, they seem more thicker.

I think it's just that the collar coupled with the breed stigma and people's negative reactions to Staffs makes it seem that way. Those spiked collars plus a breed you think is dangerous can look intimidating to some people. I personally don't care, it's just a collar and Dragon is well looked after by you, so I don't see the big deal. Loki has a green Celtic pattern one different styles.
Also, I do love Dragon, he's always in brilliant shape

Re: Some more pictures of my boy! :)
well just to be awkward, we don't use a collar just his harness. had it for about 3 years now, washes perfect, never discolored, he has grown into it so havent had to replace at any point and very very comfy for him to wear! its one of those cosydog harness.

No I think it's just more to do with how unnecessary they are mainly. You wouldn't associate spikes with friendly or approachable usually lolTara wrote:DragonTheStaffie wrote:What are the names of the collars or a website so I can have a look, I've been thinking about buying a new one since some people I use my dog for fighting etc (just because of the collar which is stupid).ella wrote:DragonTheStaffie wrote:Well, I have 3 collars for him, but they're way to thin and because he's got a really fat neck it always looked like his neck was coming out of the collar, so I searched on eBay for a bigger (thicker) collar and i found this one, I thought it would suit the markings he has so I bought it, it's not about the spikes Dragon is a softy with people as soon as you go to touch him he gets on his belly for you to rub his belly

Re: Some more pictures of my boy! :)
Jason, emos (I'm not an emo just saying ) normally wear black and spikey things, just because they do doesn't mean they're bad or aggressive? Just because my boy has some spikes on his collar does not mean he'll bite ya, the spikes is just an effect on the collar I guess, spikes doesn't mean aggressive/danger whatever, although I see why people react that way but the dog is very friendly, well at least if someone goes to rob me and sees the spikes on my boys collar they might run away :lol just joking.

No I said spikes are not approachable or friendly much like emos lol tbf cmon.. I know dragon is friendly and a lovely boy all I said was the spikes are unnecessary and give the wrong impression of him but that's just my opinion mate you know I don't mean he is though ay

I use Ezydog collars for my 2 and never had any issues just think they are smart , have a good colour , pattern range , comfortable and are pretty good value so all the Ezydog stuff gets a big thumbs up from me
