Has anyone got any recommendations on tug toys or strong rope for dogs..
The k9 Julias stuff looks great but i dont know which one would be strongest. Ramsey destroys anything.

Re: - Tug
I haven't found anything all that great so just use a rope most times. Jollyball are okay once they are broken. Really anything she breaks becomes a tug of war toy.

Re: - Tug
I just buy rope toys. They don't last all that long so I make sure he doesn't chew them, they're used purely for tug-of-war. I'd just get a bunch of cheap ones to be honest they won't last that long but they won't cost you a lot only to last a short while.

Re: - Tug
we use old t shirts etc but they must be supervised. As soon as they sit down or lay down with it to start ripping it up thats when we step in and remove it

Re: - Tug
I find that when it comes to the tug toys the expensive ones are no better than the cheap pound shop rope toys. Plus you can buy 7-8 cheap ones for every 1 expensive one lol. It doesn't feel so bad when ya havta bin them!

I always go for the pound shop rope toys. Fed up of throwing money away after a few mins of fun

Same with me, I use pound shop rope toys which surprisingly last a while, aslong as you use them only for tug, and don't let them chew on it

This. Bought Loki a £7 snake toy and it was wrecked within five minutes, literally felt bad.

Pound Shops are the way forward haha! I bought Logan a tug/tyre toy when I first got him and he got months of use out of it. It cost me £1. I then saw the EXACT same toy in a local pet shop a few days later for £7.99!

Re: - Tug
We made a great tug toy for Charlie out of strips of old tshirts, wound round and knotted all the way, he's only 4.5 months though so not sure if it'd last with an older dog

Re: - Tug
Having watched mine totally destroy a leg of lamb bone I don't think your average rope toy stands much chance so cheap ones all the way as they are not going to last long but will be fun while they do.

Re: - Tug
When we first got Rocky my husband made a tug toy out of an old piece of bed sheet and just tied knots in the length of it. It lasted ages and didn't cost a penny.

Eleanor made one of those from an old pair of jeans & Dempsey loves it. We can't let him have it unsupervised, though, cause he'd easily tear it to shreds & eat it!

We had one of those for Dempsey when he was about 5 or 6 months old - he was ripping great chunks out of it before 24 hours was out!

Re: - Tug
Charlie likes his jeans tug, Caryll I'll watch he doesn't eat it I replaced a toy today that he had great fun with but think he got the hang of ripping it apart! It looks like a hedghog and he bit the nose off and pulled out the stuffing!! Definitely hasn't lasted as long as the last one! lol.
