grumble grumble!!

Me and my little family went sledging today and then for a walk around the colliery by me, had a brill time, but only one thing mard this. Now as responsible dog owner when is see people with with kids and dogs I always put tyke back on the lead. Now we passed about ten dogs, to which ALL took a wide birth of us, to the point were a couple nearly fell down the embankment (this i found hilarious and made a comment) to get away from us, now neither dog could a cared less that they were passing each other!! I just wish people would look at the scene in front of them before they look at us like we have a killing machine on the end of the lead. A young family with a family pet, to which the pet had been playing in the snow with a 3 year old little boy and 45 mins previously had been waiting at the bottom of a hill whilst they were sledging and each time they came to the bottom couldn't give enough kisses and loves to my OH and son!!!!

Grumble over!!!

My OH is forever having a go at me for making comments to people who scoop their pampered pooches or children up out of our way when they see us coming.

I'm trying to grow a thick skin, but it's not working at the moment!

The kids part I don't mind, some kids can be silly round dogs like us we are teaching ryan that not all dogs can be stroked. But people are horrendous. My fav comment at the moment is 'come on tyke you can not eat that one today not enough meat on it' i know thats bad of me but am very very protective of my family and dog lol

Exactly, look at it as a positive! he, he! I had a woman trip over a tree stump and fall flat on her face running away from us with her little westie, sooo funny! Of course, I rushed over to help her up & Lennon rolled straight over onto his back for her little rat! Her face was a picture, & the colour of beetroot!

Our main problems are westies, well not a problem but westie owners have BIG problems with us. one couple few months back had pure panic on there face and same as your run in, you could see them scrambling to pick it up and again they turned and ran!! am thinking of getting tyke a coat and having it personlised with either 'i do not eat dog promise' or 'please do not stereo type me'

Some people are willing to miss out on the greatest moments of having a lovely pet dog. It's their loss really it is. Dont waste your time on worrying about them, they are not worth it, enjoy yourselves and your day.

the people who avoid staffys and other breeds of dog make me laugh you could not ask for a better family pet but it makes my day when a staffy lover comes over to make a fuss

It does mean I get a nice big bit of field to ourselves for playing ball off lead, Ledger isn't interested in anyone or anything else when his ball is there got to admit I was a little nervous yesterday as there were a couple of families sledging in the park at the back of my house but he was a perfect little citizen didn't even try approaching them or the few dogs that passed through and even got a few giggles off the kids as rather than the usual recall phrases I just say 'bye' and turn away and he trots right over
