if your OH went out and found the gold and made the ring would you love him more then just buying a ring from the shops?

Re: now ladies
It's the thought that counts.
My wedding ring was a cheapy from H. Samuels nearly 25 years ago & I wouldn't swap it for the world!

Have to agree it's not about the ring. It's just a symbol of the eternal love for each other. Ok brb just off to be sick

Re: now ladies
Some clients of mine (use that term loosely as when they come in its an excuse to crack a bottle open £££), have just got engaged with a haribo ring They had it made into a paper weight, so sweet

They are clients! Nothing crude there
Love going to posh houses occasionally, and matching art work

Re: now ladies
This is the closest picture to my wedding ring, I have diamonds and sapphires set in 18 K white gold, my hubbys wedding ring is made from titanium with 3 sapphires. Hubbys Dad is from Finland where lady's have stones in their wedding rings instead of the engagement ring. We decided to carry on the tradition.

Re: now ladies
My engagment ring is white gold and diamonds but we were really broke when planning our wedding so I bought a silver off eBay for £4.98 with the intention of swapping it when we could afford it but I don't want to now, it wouldnt be the same x

Re: now ladies
Carly you are quite right, you cannot replace the sentiments you both made that day.

Re: now ladies
you all going off topic, if your true love went out mine for enough gold for 2 rings wedding ring and also design & made them..... they would be 2 special ring that you couldn't buy that type of ring dont matter how much they cost
Re: now ladies
The thought that you went out got the gold and designed it yourself does have a personal touch to it. Like when the kids make you a homemade card it beats any shop bought one. Only problem is I would probably design some ugly thing
If you do get to design it Steve make it small with smooth edges. Don't want the imprint when you fall out

Yeah that's lovely Steve, especially if crafted in the way you described.

Oh.
Disappointed.
I was picturing you with your hammer and chisel and panning thingy collecting all the gold and then crafting it for ......
Pull yourself together gal! (that's me, the gal )
Yes, Steve, it's a great idea!
Maybe some romantic man, somewhere, one day will do just this - we can all dream .....

Re: now ladies
I would rather doubt it Steve.
This Welsh gold seems destined for Royal rings.
