Ruby
Hello, im new here i just got my first staffie recently from a rescue home. She is about two years old from what i understand. She has a lovely temperament but from what i have read staffs are very active and playfull i have never heard her bark and she has never shown any interest in any toys or anything. i was wondering if this is usual or maybe she is still settling in?
many thanks, liam

Hi and welcome to the forum from Rocky and me.
She is probably just settling in, we didn't hear Rocky bark for about the first 4 days, he is also from a rescue centre.

Re: Ruby
I thought the same but ive had her going on for two months now. Weather its inside or out she seems happier to sit as close as she can and just stay there, maybe she is as lazy as me and thankyou i wasnt really supposed to have her but once i saw her there was no way she was staying in the kennels. Was a supprise for the family at home

Re: Ruby
Its pretty normal the barking thing. Will be settling for about 6 months. It takes time for them to become used to their new habitat. Our 1st rescue dog has only just settled well and we got her last April

Re: Ruby
One of my dogs won't play with toys at all. And another, I had about 3 years before I heard him bark and even now he hardly ever barks.

Re: Ruby
Welcome she's gorgeous. Probably just settling in, or maybe just her personality. Loki doesn't bark unless he's attention-seeking, but never during play. Some just don't like toys.
