Wilson - two to three year-old bulldog male
Wilson has a bit of a sad story to tell.
In his foster mum's words:
Wilson is about 2/3 yrs old. He came into Animal Helpline's care from a pound when his 7 days were up. Whilst in the pound he had shut down and hadn't eaten for 5 days.
No matter what they offered him to eat he refused. Hard to believe when he was being offered fresh steak that one of the kennel girls had bought for him.
He was just sleeping his life away, not attempting to come out of his bed often.
One of the pound helpers contacted us and asked if we could help as they were worried that he would either:
1) be PTS,
or,
2) they would go in one morning and find poor Wilson dead.
Animal Helpline couldn't say no to this plea and so he was taken in under their wing.
As the kennel environment was stressing this boy too much, a foster home took him in to give him tlc and food that he so needed.
When Wilson first arrived in his foster home he settled straightaway into a crate . He was looking a lot happier. He came alive, had a hearty lunch and is now slowly putting on those needed pounds.
He has been good with the other dogs in the foster home, males and females, but think he would be best with another calm female dog for company.
Wilson would also like a home without small children or visiting small children. When he gets excited he does mouth, so this is why no small children.
Someone that has experience with large breeds is also a must. Wilson has stated his vaccs and is now neutered.
Wilson is under the care of Animal Helpline Dog Rescue at http://www.homes4dogs.co.uk/
Please call 07849 637862 or 01780 783331 to register interest (more chance of success in the afternoon).
The rescue is just off the A1, near Peterborough, Cambs.
Thanks.

Poor Wilson - I do hope he finds his forever home soon - a puzzled look in his eyes. and oh those poor ribs in his first photo.
From his photos, it looks to me that he has a lot of Boxer in him?
You're doing a great job Keith.

Ahhh poor Wilson, sounds like he had almost given up, thank goodness for caring foster homes.
Hope he finds a loving forever home very soon.

What a difference a little bit of love and kindness makes, and what a grand job you are doing Keith.

Wilson is on foster with another member of this forum, who has very deep experience of bull breeds and mastiffs.Panda wrote:What a difference a little bit of love and kindness makes, and what a grand job you are doing Keith.
Can't think of a better foster home for him.
