Depends on your excess and claims history but it's ruined goods isn't it and you have a receipt for all the stuff you just bought , I would just be honest due to timings of your new purchase and the food bill to not try and kid them you had it all in the freezer at the time. We had one a few years ago when the lad unplugged the freezer instead of the microwave when we were going away

doubt you could claim anything at all as most policies wont cough up unless you dropped it down the stairs. The freezer contents may be covered though if you had to throw anything away Smile

Im just glad i got the new one on offer. It was £450,i got it for £250 so its a nice saving, just a pain in the * having to spend my savings on it angry

Wow, that is not a great start, but a new freezer is always nice. I don't think I could live with just one anymore though. I use two full frig/freezer combos in our kitchen and one large chest freezer in the Garage! Just filled the freezer out in the garage with 200 lbs of chicken for the doggies and would be steamed if it went out! Don't know who could take that load in a pinch!

Electrical suppliers are legally bound to take away your old appliance for free. Just mention the WEEE directive and they will take it away:

Janey, sorry but you were robbed.

My DH said they probably do it to reduce the risk of people dumping random appliances everywhere.I thought they offered it because of my dazzling smile Big Grin Big Grin Laughing
