dry food recomendations - Max's food is not agreeing with him. Empty Max's food is not agreeing with him.

the breeders gave us a bag of the food that they had been feeding, the first few days with us he was fine on it but yesterday he started making squishy pooh's and this morning he had a runny one. he's been savaging the grass since we got him .on sunday we started to mix small quantities of his new food into his current food, which he seemed fine with and his tummy was ok. but after this mornings pooh he vomited and it was just his new food that came out with some grass cos he'd pooped out the other food. so which food is disagreeing with him? for lunch i fed him plain rice and a little of his old kibble. i plan to feed him some rice and scrambled egg for supper if he hasn't improved. and then take him to the vet if that doesn't help.
i'm a bit worried.

Had this problem with Bacchus on Sunday/Monday. Took him to the vet Mon. night as we have had a dhiarroea/sickness bug up here.
Have had him on plain boiled rice with scrambled egg and/or boiled chicken breast all week. Just starting to re-introduce his usual complete today.

Hope Max perks up soon.

Hi

I personally do not feel that Vitagen is a good dog food for a growing puppy ..
If you compare the ingredients you will see that ultra dog have a 290g protein content which is much higher than Vitagen . Protein cannot be produced by dogs as is needed for their growth so try to wean him onto a higher protein food if you can .
Some suggestions are Vets choice , Grandeur , Lusahn Breeder Approved

thumbs up

Agree with the above.

I always like to ask if you have considered raw? It is MUCH better for dogs. (i can't personally feed it but if my circumstances were different i would, and i will in the future!)

Thanks, we are starting to feed him Grandeur, but he's still reluctant to eat, think the breeder had food out for him all the time, so getting him to eat at specific times is difficult and it's difficult to gauge his response to the food. but i've only heard good things about grandeur so we are hoping for the best.

we definitely cant feed raw, don't haveenough fridge and freezer space! and in our climate i'd be a little wary anyway.
