Kong Wobbler Empty Kong Wobbler

Post by Jellytot Thu Dec 20 2012, 11:05

Anyone used a Kong Wobbler - well, not personally, but has your dog?

Was thinking of getting Ralph one, but have seen mixed reviews?

Good, bad?

Ledger loves his buts its a short term supervised toy as once he has got all of the treats out he will try to eat. Think he loves it as it makes alot of noise bouncing it off the walls/furniture Laughing

Maxi will play with this. She is generally not very into toys, but will do anything for food, so the only way I can get her to play with something is these kinds of toys and she seems to enjoy it.

She is pretty inpatient though so I had to show her a few times how to do it because she didnt get it and lost interest in it the first few times before she figured it out.

We have one for Sophie but the first time she investigated it with her nose it rolled back and hit her on the nose. Now when it comes out she just stands and barks at it, she won't go near it.

Just to follow up on this. I did get one for Ralph and he LOVES it. I sometimes give him his dinner in it, keep him occupied for a bit. I recommend.

We bought Otis one and he loves it- We put his meals in it sometimes and he chases it around until it's empty. So funny watching him push it around with his paws. We sometimes put bigger treats in it to make it a little harder too.

Maisey is very, very food orientated so I bought her one to try and keep her amused instead of woofing down her treat and then asking for another. After a bit of practice, soon got the hang of it and pop a few of her natural treats in it every morning now (spend about 5 mins cutting bits up, lol). I do have a job finding it later though, it is usually jammed up behind something Smile

Roxie, on the other hand, not interested at all but she is not the one constantly woofing for treats.

Have been thinking of buying Blue one of these. One of the methods that we have been advised to do with Blue to get him to feel more comfortable around strangers is to drop treats on the floor when they come into the house. As we are all aware staffys are capable of eating 5000 of them in 20 secs so hopeing the wobbler might save me money on treats as it might take longer for him to hoover them up Laughing

I got Louby this one - can't see how it would work for the paste or peanut butter, the hole is quite small. But she loves it. We are currently letting her stay out of her crate through the day while we are at work, and we give her this with her food in to keep her occupied (although the post has its interesting side, given she chewed it to bits). She does bark at it quite alot though, she just slides and chases it all over the floor..

I don't think it's for peanut butter. The wobbler is for putting dry treat or kibble in.

I bought Blue one today. He loves it. He has worked out if he puts his teeth in the hole he can pick it up, take it to a part of the house where he can get it stuck and then whine and bark at it when it's stuck Laughing

Kong Wobbler Empty Kong Wobbler too much for Stitch

Post by StitchWalker Sat May 11 2013, 11:38

Got the largest model in red... immediately caught his attention.
Trying to get a firm grip on it with his teeth and feet... won't succeed.
This seems to drive him to the edge every now and then.
He is not even noticing the food / treats dropping out of it.
Lying down exhausted after chasing it for minutes he finds the small hole.
Just one fang in the hole he notices he gets some grip on it...
but the slightest extra force will make the kong pop out of control again.
Tensed within minutes, over-excited and will growl when I want to take it from him.
