Finding a proper breeder who is K/C reg and fully pedigree Puppys

Hiya there guys as i said in my last post we are looking to be homing a puppy later in 2013. Now the problem we are having is finding breeders and who to trust when getting are new family member. was'st sure which forum to put this in could anyone give us any information where we can get alist of reg breeders from our area North Yorkshie/North east we would be able to maybe travel further aswell.

Your first port of call would probably be the Kennel Club. Go on their site & look for a list of Assured Breeders that are registered with them.

It would probably also be worthwhile contacting the Northern Breed Clubs....

Ask if they have details of breeders in the area & then research any breeders they give you. Make sure that whichever breeder you go to tests the bitch for all of the hereditary problems in the breed, and also that they choose a stud dog that has been tested for them.

We are currently trying to build up our breeders database but we have only started so only have one breeder on it, in bath.

We have another fabulous breeder in south east london, but her details are not yet posted.

The important thing really is not to trust anyone. Find a pup or litter and research the pups family to find what medical illnesses they may of had and check the Inbreeding percentage.. I've bought two staffs now from online and they have both come from really good backgrounds.

If you wanted to get more info on a pups history you could get the names of the parents, a decent breeder will be happy to give you these so you can research them!

Dave one of our mods bought a puppy not so long ago and he did a lot of research into him, so he can definitely give you some pointers.

As Hayley says I got my 2nd pup from a breeder a few months ago and very happy though I know they have no immediate plans for any more if you give Steve your contact details to pass on I would be happy to give you their details , they are just outside of Wigan so it depends how long you are prepared to wait . I got them from the Champdogs website whisch , as I said in an earlier post is a good site for contact though you still have to do your research as though only KC reg pups are on there , there are still some less desireable ones. The best thing you can do if you find something is come back to us for an opinion , some of us may know the kennels or spot problems, you can have as much or as little help as you want
