Buying Supplements/Aftercare Products
Hi,
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere on the forum, I did have a look around and couldn't see anything.....
Likewise, if I have posted it in the wrong board, one of Admin/Mods please feel free to move it.
Does anyone have a specific place (online, retail pet store, dog specific treatment store etc) where they buy supplementary and aftercare products for their dog?
I use my local vets in the main, but to be honest they are very pricy; and if I am to put Ella on supplements for life after her recent operation, I just wondered what others do in this situation?
I'm aware that the vet knows best, but if you can get the exact same product for a better price then I (and I'm sure most everyone else) is all for it
Obviously, I'd check, re-check and double check the source and ingredients of such a product, but am just wondering if others just buy from the vets or if there is a 'recommended' place to buy from?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

Re: Buying Supplements/Aftercare Products
I use Simply Supplements for supplements for myself and for Zeus:
http://www.simplysupplements.net/category/35/simplypets™/
Prices are decent, the delivery times are quick and the best thing about it is that everything is Buy One Get One Free. I do however sometimes shop around for supplements and tend to find that eBay has the cheapest.

Re: Buying Supplements/Aftercare Products
Do you have any insurance for Ella ?? Would this cover the cost of the supplements for you ??
We dont really have a specific place to get things from but just for look at value for money wherever we happen to get anything from.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I do have insurance for Ella, not sure if supplementary aftercare products are covered or not.
I'll have to read the small print..........

Re: Buying Supplements/Aftercare Products
Just shop around, most of the products the vet supplies (other than medicines, of course) can be bought cheaper elsewhere.
Keep a look out for the special offers at Holland & Barrett, for example. Sometimes they do things like buy one, get another for a penny.
Chemist direct is a good online site for bits and pieces as well...
