Hi
I've changed Debo's food from f4ds to wainwright and I've noticed he has dandruff. What can I add to his food? Was thinking of tsp of olive oil added to his morning meal.

Salmon oil is good - that way you get all the omega thingies with it! Which Wainwrights are you using?

Could also be the cold weather that is drying out his skin a bitl. Suki gets a bit more dandruff in the winter time

Wainwrights do a fish based one (salmon & potato I think) which might suit him better.

U tried wainwrights for Mia, and had exactly the same problem, she got dandruff!

Changed her food back and her coat improved again, so based on that I wouldn't feed wainwrights but if you want to then add some oil as suggested above!

Caryll, the reason why we swaping for wainwright is because he didn't want to eat his morning meal so we thought that he got fed up with the taste. But he does the same thing with wainwright. So I think we get back to f4ds. How much should I feed him? Maybe I'm giving him to much so he's not that hungry in the morning? At the moment I want him to have 160g in the morning(he eats 40g) and 160g in the evening (eats all) . He weights 17,5kg and is 9mnth. Both meals are after walk.

Zeus had a dandruff problem a while back and he was on Wainwrights at the time, I got some salmon oil and start adding it into his food and the problem went straight away. I also start putting apple cider vinegar in his food which could have also been the solution. I wouldn't say it was the Wainwrights that was causing it.

Have you thought about adding a small amount of wet food with the dry? Wainwrights do a tray food which is reasonably priced & might make it more appetising. Just a couple of desert spoonfuls mixed in to coat the dry food might do it.

Oh, dear. How about a tin of Chappie - again, just a couple of spoonfuls mixed in. It's a food often recommended by vets after a stomach problem because it's really bland.

I could recommend the Chappie if he has an upset tummy. Thats the only thing we could Rocky to eat after a recent bout of tummy trouble. Its just like a fish paste, try adding a spoonful to his kibble.

I'm just at thd pah. The tray food has turkey, turkey liver. And the pouch has chicken, rice and veg. Maybe the liver upset his tummy? He's easy to train but oh boy, hard to feed. Just like my OH.

I think he's old enough to take a little adult food now.
