She looks good to me. Nice tight 'cat' feet. Her bone substance could perhaps be a little heavier, but not by much. She's lovely!

What do you mean ?
is there a chance her bone might get heavier

No, at her age, she is what she is. She might well 'fill out' and become more muscular, even wider chested, but her bone substance is set. As a bitch, she's very feminine and that means a lot. I really don't like to see 'doggy' bitches!

Can I ask why you are obsessed with her getting bigger? Females staffs are naturally leaner than males and staffs whiles being muscular and broad are not generally very large dogs like say mastiffs or bulldogs. She will just be the way she will be.

She looks beautifull, maybe she needs to drop a little weight. Kenny is 18inch and 20 kilo's, but balanced. Just enjoy her as she is. Smile

Kiara , forgive me but got to as the question , do you believe she is a staffy or a cross, just stumbled over another post of yours from a few months now where you quote her as a Staffy x French Mastiff (Dogue de Bordeaux) just curious as this would certainly account for her size Big Grin

haha yer height wise she's fine but 20kg at 10 months is a bit over!

Oh i also agree with Kelly i'd get some weight off her aswell which is probably why her weight and height don't match so much Smile

Hi Ella, before you drop her weight though, i'd measure her again. Im not saying she isnt 15i Smile nch's, but i'd check 1st. If she was taller then her weight would be fine. Kenny was 22 kilo's, but looks much better at 20kg. Overall , i wouldnt worry to much, as she's certainally a looker Smile

Looking at her regardless of her height, she is carrying far to much weight for my liking whether she's 15 or 20 inches, she has very little visible waist and tuck in that photo.

Don't want to appear thick here but can I ask why is weigh such an important issue? Surely as long as she is healthy and the vets have said her weigh is fine then it shouldn't matter. I took Obi to be weighed on Thursday and he's 19.8kg at 7 months the vet said he was totally fine as it's all muscle no fat at all.

Weight/height is important for balance. A 15" Stafford would be unbalanced at over 20kilos. Also, a purebred Stafford would be way out of standard at over 20 kilos.

People and unfortunately vets seem to like animals to be fat as it looks more "healthy" when it actually isnt. My lexi has a bit more weight on her than i have in summer cause she lives outside and even though she has a rug on at night she still needs a bit extra to shiver off. Shes currently 17.5kg and 14.5 inches and usually 17kg. staffs are pure muscle, but you should not be able to feel fat OVER the muscles and they should have a really good definition and slim waist witha good dip in it. you should also be able to see a few ribs.

Kenny's 20kg, but at 18inch's carryies it well, but i have been told to cut his weight a little more, but that wasnt from the vet, but a judge at a show. Our vet is happy with his weight, but did say he shouldnt be any heavier. I like his look, but i am trying to get more muscle definition. If i remember Kenny was an heavy pup. He was shorter and tubbier Big Grin

Diesel is 17" from floor to highest point on shoulders and 18.6kg (ish) and i think she is carrying far too much weight.

Thanks for the answers although I still really don't understand to be honest oooppss! I don't plan on breeding or showing Obi so as long as he's healthy and proportionate I don't need to worry do I? He is purebreed and his dad is big and stocky and his mum is tall. Unfortunately he doesn't like the tape measure so measuring his height is kind of guess work but i'd say he's about 17". Guess he's got both of the non standard traits lol
