My Jumper
Hi
This morning Ozzy pinched my jumper from the back of a chair and wouldnt give it up for love nor money. There was a bit of growling and Play pulling to start with then he just sat there with it in his mouth with me on the other end very very close to his mouth and he just stood there and refused to let go. i even tempted him with ham but to no avail. it seems that omce he has hold of something he just wont let go, i dont think he is being nasty but its a real stand off until he decides he hass had enough, nothing will make him release?

Re: My Jumper
He's seeing it as a game and as soon as you give chase it's being played. This morning out on a walk Tommy nicked one of my gloves, eventually got it back off him having to force his mouth open by applying a little pressure at the back , then the little bugger nicked the other one instead , recall ignored and just dancing around.
How is he on the "leave" command

Re: My Jumper
The best thing to do IMO (as long as he isn't going to rip your stuff to shreds when he does have it!) is make him realise that the thing he has, you're not in any way interested in! Agree with Dave that trying to get it back is just turning it into a game. You need to be teaching a strong leave/drop command and it needs to be bombproof in all situations! Start with low value items and then work your way up. Good luck
