fetch!????
Well Ledger is loving his chuck it ball but is gradually becoming reluctant to bring it back he was releasing it with a nice gravy biscuit treat but soon learnt that the ball would be thrown away again if he released it yesterday he managed to suck up a biscuit without even letting go of the ball he then stores it until I'm not close enough and chews the biscuit, well today went to whole new levels....
Considering he had been like this for a fair while and then I remembered I had my phone with me I am very impressed with his restraint but now wondering how I'm ever going to get the ball back when we are in the park

Re: fetch!????
Try using another ball, so you always have two with you. Throw one , keeping hold of the other, let him see the other one when he brings the first one back, then see if he will drop the first one. It works for us.

Re: fetch!????
That's hilarious use tastier treats like chicken maybe? Some dogs just don't like fetch.

Re: fetch!????
Great pic, Storm has a couple of kongs, a black one and an orange floating one as he loves to swim, he doesn't like to give it back but if I pick up something else he will drop it as he then just wants whatever I've picked up. He will only return with his toy if I throw it in the opposite direction to which we're walking. If I throw it in the direction we're going he will just lie down and wait for me to arrive If I stand he'll come 3/4 of the way back and flop out. This time of the year I wish they sold glow in the dark kongs as it's a struggle to get his later walk done in daylight.

Re: fetch!????
Well he still wont drop a ball but he will chase the second one so he gets a bit more exercise (as do I) which is all the better when the weather isn't so good

Re: fetch!????
Rolo will only play fetch if I have 2 balls... and even then he only brings the first back when he see's the 2nd swinging in your hand... he drops it a few meters away and leaps literally at the 2nd in my hand... You have to be braced, if you time it right and strongly enough we can get him to stop for a split second... but you must throw it quick or you will get 23kgs of Staff in your chest ... he has no patience, and you must still be quick enough to grab the 1st ball before he gets back... then the fun starts again!! He is getting better... or i'm moving quicker???
