Aniemother here (again)!
Hi guys!
I'm Ane and I've been a member here before, but I lost track of you during one of the moves, I think. I'm still sharing my house with the adorable Bajas the pug:
He's almost nine years old now.
We also share our life with the two Devon Rex kitties, Virus and Hyssing.
Virus:
Hyssing
(He looks so tough, but he's crying for his mama! )
The most exciting news since the last time we were around is that we are moving. This june my boyfriend and I are taking over a little farmhouse. This also means that I can finally have a staffie! Will probably still wait a year or so, but I'm SO excited!

Hi there & welcome back!
Bajas is gorgeous & looks very fit. I'm not a cat person, but I must admit they do look handsome!
Good luck on your house move - are you going into farming or is it an ex-farmhouse?

Re: Aniemother here (again)!
Thanks!
It's an ex-farmhouse. I'm planning to grow quite a bit of veg for our own consumption, though. And to get some bunnies and perhaps some chickens. I feed all my guys raw, so it would be nice to raise some animals for meat. Some people find the idea to be cruel (having "pets" and killing them), but I enjoy the idea of feeding the boys meat that I know had a good quality of life first. IMO you should be able to look your food in the eyes (if you eat meat, that is).Caryll wrote:

I don't eat meat, but my dog certainly does, so I agree wholeheartedly! Dempsey eats raw as well & a couple of others on the forum are giving it a try.

Our new house, barn and outbuilding - and plenty of space both in the forest and garden.
As you can imagine this will be quite a change after 3 yrs in this tiny (17 m2) studio apartment.
Re: Aniemother here (again)!
Glad to hear it. Bajas has been completely rawfed for about 7 yrs and the cats for just over a year.Caryll wrote:Dempsey eats raw as well & a couple of others on the forum are giving it a try.

Ha! I managed the multi-quote thingy!
But once upon a time he looked like this:
Today we're all a bit chilly. I'm soo ready for spring!!
It's about a 45 min drive from Oslo, where I have both work and the university I go to. A bit of a commute, but not too bad.Caryll wrote:Whereabouts in Norway is it?
He sure doesn't. (Allthough he is starting to show a bit of gray) I get lots of questions about how old my puppy is.niff wrote:loving lil puggles too doesn't look 9

Re: Aniemother here (again)!
Thanks everyone! I'm so excited to finally know there's a puppy in my future.. It's going to be one long year to wait. LOL... But you have to expect that sort of a wait just to get a puppy around here anyways, so it's probably good we need to wait until after the move and having gotten stuff in order.
Re: Aniemother here (again)!
hello!! Wow! Your new place looks amazing!! That is proper snow!! If we get a couple of inches we are stuck!! Not much of a cat person either but they do look quite cool!! Especially with the harnesses!! The pug looks quite young looking for nine!! And can I say that your English is better than mine!! Not that hard though!!

Re: Aniemother here (again)!
LOL! Yes that is quite a lot of snow.. Very pretty, but I haven't missed having to dig out the car in the morning these years in the city. Still can't wait to move, though. As for the kitties - I love their look now. But I remember when I first saw them I thought they were butt ugly.Stevie b wrote:hello!! Wow! Your new place looks amazing!! That is proper snow!! Hello what a lovely place to bring up a puppy. Im a vegetarian but agree with you in the way you want to raise your own meat. Some people think meat is grown at the supermarket they have no idea were it comes from.

Hi & welcome back
I think your dog still looks young enough to be a puppy.......a credit to you.
Your new house is lovely. I bet you can't wait to move and I think it is great to be given the chance to go back to our roots by growing your own food and having livestock etc. Good luck to you
Look forward to also seeing a pic of your new puppy when you get him/her

Re: Aniemother here (again)!
Exactly! I think it's a shame.. I could never be a vegetarian (among other things I'm way too picky and would never manage a balanced vegetarian diet), but I do limit my use of meat and buy only organic eggs (no battery chickens) and free range organic meat or game as much as my student budget can afford. There's this really great farm/company that I like to support - each pig has indoor access + 200m2 outdoor area PER pig - all inn all huge ares where they can roam and dig and behave like pigs should. You can really taste the difference, too, compared to traditional stationary indoor pigs.gem wrote:Some people think meat is grown at the supermarket they have no idea were it comes from.
Yes he's really young at heart, which makes him appear younger, I think. People often ask me how old my puppy is.. And then I point out the gray on his face and legs. He'll still get so happy when we get home he'll fall over 'cause he can't decide what leg to stand on.BlueStaffBlue wrote:Hi & welcome back

And I'm so excited about a new puppy. I've just contacted the breeder I think I want to buy from and plan to visit her this summer to get to know her and the dogs better. I can't get a puppy until after the move and a litte redecorating so there's no hurry. I think Bajas will enjoy it too. Most of the time.

Re: Aniemother here (again)!
Figured I could just update this a little Unfortunately I lost my first Stafford, Gummi, 4 years ago. This is my current crew:
Gaffa (Blondietales Ladybug) is my current Stafford and queen of the house. She's turning 5 this year and competes in obedience and nosework and she's a great tracking dog.
My border collie is called Strips (= zip tie) and he also does various dog sports and he loves to run and use his body, like skijoring
Terex the Australian Kelpie is the young'un and is basically just all chaos. > He's turning one soon and hopefully he'll settle down in a year or two. Give me strength!
If this link works correctly you can see them running on the lake today: https://www.instagram.com/p/BtbENUkh29i/
