Patrick. a real mirical of life

this pitbull was so abused and in bad condition when they found him people thought he was dead. Look at the turn around this poor little guy made.
the first few images people may find a little uncomfortable to veiw. it pictures a very emaciated dog.
but it shows how these guys can bounce back and that they are not a lost cause!

I know there was a lot of legal wrangling about who should have him, but I don't know who won.

Wow, what a turn around, I remember seeing images of Patrick a while ago, I honestly thought the first picture showed a dead dog, I couldn't believe he was still alive. I really hope who ever did it has suffered the same abuse and neglect they certainly do not deserve to own the dog or another ever again.

It looks like he's still with the vet who helped to pull him round....

Nice photos, I hadn't seen any for ages.

From what I can remember it was a woman that was the owner and left him to die, then forced him down a garbage chute from her apartment. He was later found still alive unbelievably and rescued. I cannot remember what if any charges were bought against the owner. I know what I would have done to her, but that's another story.

That was just evil to do some think like that to a dog, just goes to show how tough these dogs are to recover from some think like that.

That first picture is unbelievable, that's the most emaciated animal I've ever seen. He basically looks dead. Amazing turn around though, you wouldn't think it was the same dog. Obviously he's a strong-willed dog

I think that's why they chose to try & save him - the very fact that he'd fought to stay alive despite being so emaciated & dehydrated that he should have been long dead, made them try their hardest to support his will to live. And it worked.

My fisrt thought when I saw the latest pics was "Wow, he's fat". Then I thought "So what - he deserves a bit of meat on his bones!"

i know when i saw the first pic i was like 'he's dead.' but then i looked on and i was like OMG HE'S ALIVE!

Its a miracle that he is still alive annd looking so well. He deserves the best of homes.

i agree... i dont get people who are all about putting down abused dogs. just because it has a struggle doesnt mean its not worth it.

that all happened in the city right next to where I used to live in NJ, and my best friend at home is personally involved with the Patrick movement. I've met the police captain who works in the animal unit and saved his life. They are truly amazing people, and part of the reason I went with a bull breed of dog. Patrick is an inspiration.

There is another dog, rescued and being brought back to life by Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn. His name is John. If you're on facebook, check out the Sean Casey page and John's story - at nearly 18 months old, he was only 18 lbs when they found him behind a car, near death. He's thriving now and is looking for his forever home. I hope and pray he finds it!! He's a gorgeous, lovely boy!
