New member, though I'd say hi !
Hi there everyone. I'm a student from Norway, and a relatively new staffie owner. I have a red/white pooch aged 9 months to date, together with my husband. We originally obtained her from a reputable breeder where she was intended for future breeding, but the breeder, unfortunately for him, had to terminate his practice due to severe allergies. Fortunately for us we are now her legit owners with no breeding obligations. However, she's a beauty (of course, like all of yours!) and we're intending to show her a little in the future. But, mainly, she's just our little bullie couch potato hyper active princess!
We recently discovered agility, and I think that will be perfect for her. She's athletic (slim, so far, she's got a little more to grow) and super quick (like staffies are), and I think she'll do well and LOVE it - she also learned pretty quick how to do some of the obstacles, and I could literally see her smile, she just loves to run FAST. Staffies are generally good for this sport with their fearless minds and explosive speed - so if you haven't considered it, TRY, it suits everyone! I'm looking forward to start training her for "real" when she gets a little older!
For the future, I dream of becoming a breeder myself and now I've got a chance with a pretty pooch originally intended for that purpose, however, I will NOT do it unless she turns out perfectly healthy and I find a suiting mate. I have studied genetics and behavioural biology so I have a personal interest in breeding if I ever find the time and the perfect dog for it. I had a pug for eight years before I chose to advance to the staffie-stage, so I have experienced bad breeding on my body... I love the pug nature and also their looks, which I to some extent experience in the staffie as well - loving temper with cheeky, happy grins - but the pug physics killed my little gentleman way too early, and no matter how much I'd like to have another, I decided there and then that I would not support the extreme health conditions, and would not like one of my dogs to suffer like my pug did. Some pug breeders are very considerate when breeding and all honor to them, but their physics in general are extreme. And I'd like to go jogging with my dog too!
This was a little bit about me. I hope to become active here on the forum, to learn as much as possible from all of you with knowledge on staffies - especially on breeding, training, nutrition, behaviour and agility! And maybe I can share something valuable as well

Hi & welcome.
Great introduction! I'm sure that if you do decide to breed from her, she'll be in good hands.
One tiny word of warning; at 9 months she's a little too young to do the high impact sections of agility. Just take care.

Thank you for your replies
Caryll: I wrote, too, that I was looking forward to start training her for "real" when she gets a little older but thanks for the heads up! Do you reckon I should wait longer than her being 12 months of age before I start with high jumps?
