doing health tests on cats and dogs hearts. one man doin it on 8 puppies and mum and then a lady doing it on a line of cats.
bit late doing tests when you have already bred the bloody animals.

It's sad, really. I've lost count of the number of times I've heard about somebody getting a dog from a spposedly good breeder, only to find that there are genetic health problems.

Our little rescue jack russell has got a congential heart defect. When we got him at 6 months the vet said if he lived until he was 2 he was doing well. He's 8 now and on beta blockers twice a day he's doing well. He coughs and struggles to breath some times and collpses on walks if he gets excited. At least he's easy enough to pick up.
Many years ago I worked a few weeks on the equestrian department at Leahurst covering for some one off sick. I really enjoyed it.
