Duke is 16 weeks now
Well as some of you know Duke is is our first SBT after years of keeping other types of terrier's i thought id let you all know how he is doing .
I have to say i am over the moon with him, he obeys commands and picks up on them with ease, he sits and stay's he shakes a paw , his re call is spot on and he walks on a slack lead, he is friendly towards other dogs , he like all puppy's can push the boundaries but he seems to know how far he can go and a click of my finger and thumb stops him going any further, he seems to know who his master is .
I have to say i have not felt as much love for a dog as i do for Duke in a long time, his loyalty to both of us is clear, it is a pleasure to own a SBT and i sit wishing i got one years ago, his character shines through and some days we sit and laugh at him throwing his toys about without a care in the world, we have got used to the snoring and the farting along with the big burp after his meals .
Duke is making a fantastic pet and companion he has a great temperament this was tested last week when a Staffy of the lead attacked him, i worried it could break him but the day after on his walk he was playing chase with a little x terrier he has made friends with, to say we are both happy with our first SBT is an understatement, these dogs are truly fantastic intelligent dogs, we are looking forward to many happy years with our Duke

Re: Duke is 16 weeks now
You have an angel so great to hear that Duke is such a well-behaved, friendly, loving puppy though and it says a lot about how he's being trained too.

Re: Duke is 16 weeks now
the love they give is unconditional and when people turn round and say 'its only a dog',they have never owned a staffie before.
so glad duke is getting on so well

Re: Duke is 16 weeks now
well said mate and pleased he's coming along well . You only get out of dogs what you put into them so I think you deserve to give yourself a big pat on the back

No problem , I am from the same stable as you and previous to Tilly my experience was with BC and BCX , would love to be the person that changes someones mind about the dogs and be known as that nice family with the 2 staffs, don't think there is anything wrong with being proud of what you have. And if 1 single person went out and got a Staff based on their experience of ours then that would make my day
