My girl; Zara
Zara is an absolutely beautiful cross breed who sadly finds kennel life very stressful. Zara loves to be around people that she knows and trusts and occasionally spends times in our laundry room with the laundry ladies where she loves to just laze about watching the world go by and enjoying some quiet time away from her kennel.
She doesn’t seem keen on other dogs but some of this could be down to the stress of the kennel environment, however we do think she’d probably prefer a home all to herself with no other animals. Zara can be a fearful dog, particularly around strangers and men, and for this reason due to her unpredictability she will require an adult only home preferably with a female owner. She does come around to men eventually, and will have a cuddle with some of our male ACA's but it takes her a little while. Zara would love to live somewhere that she can just relax and feel secure, she would need to be introduced to new situations with care and confidence from her owners and although it may take some time and patience we feel that the process would be hugely rewarding to you both.
Zara is in real desperate need for a second chance in life, if you are not in a position to adopt her permanently, a foster home would be just as beneficial in her current state as kennels really are the worst place for her to be. We must say that it’s not all doom and gloom however, Zara has a few extremely dedicated walkers that take her away from the Dogs Home as often as possible and once in a quiet environment she transforms into a playful and interactive dog. Zara is highly affectionate and we often catch our animal care assistants in her kennel giving her a cuddle!
Please reply to this post if you can help Zara out at all, she is based in the Bristol area. Thanks

Oh dear little Zara - just look at those eyes ....
I do hope that she manages to find a forever home soon, it will take a special person but there ARE special people out there and I hope one of them comes along.

Definitely going to take a special someone, just worries me how skinny she's getting and just how old she is looking when she's still a young girl really! No more that 5 years old!
It was actually a decision between her and Biscuit when I adopted, but Bis was at the top of the list for PTS and her behaviour was more severe, really thought Zara would get a home but not one single person has viewed her in 2 and a half years breaks my heart she's such a darling girl. If you guys could spread the word I'd really appreciate it!

Re: My girl; Zara
This makes me so sad :-(
I work full time and already have a SBT whom I do not see enough of. I am seriously considering getting her a friend, but I'm in the early processes of this decision making/planning, which doesnt help Zara at all.
I hope Zara finds a lovely home soon.
