Please help
Hi Bella had a patella operation 17 days ago and its been 11 days of hell. Was on Metacam for a week before she developed violent bloody squirts. went to vet and she was given injection and tablets and binding liquid. took her 6 days for first poop and she isnt eating much unless forced. Rang vet said she is drinking like a fish which she has never done and had not pooped in 6 days told to watch her. wouldnt eat yesterday bought her BBQ chicken she took over an hour to eat it , she has had a poop each day for last 2 days and Has wet her bed overnight 2 out of 3 nights and let her out for wee and she peed her bed again 30 minutes later. All she wants to do is drink water back to the vet tonight to try to find out why my beautiful happy little girl is trying to drown herself
Has anyone got any idea what could be the problem we are worried sick

Re: Please help
I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. Sounds like much more is going on there and hopefully the vet can get it sorted. If not, I'd get a second opinion. It sounds pretty severe.

Re: Please help
Thanks Guys,
We took her last night and her temp was 39.5 vet gave her two injections to get her temp down. we were worried she might fit or have seizures. he checked her over and he ruled out kidney problems as she isnt dehyrated. he said she had picked up a pretty bad bacteria and we have to take her back tonight to have her temp checked and if its still up then we start the blood tests etc. She had blood works done the morning of her Patella Operation and everything was good. Only place she could have picked anything up is the vets, cause it all started just after her op and she was in her crate at home and hasnt been with other animals!
Makes you wonder why they come home sick when they were so healthy before their visit?

It's a good point but like hospitals , people don't go there when they feel ok so the chances are a lot higher, bit ironic though

Re: Please help
thanks
Never had so much trouble with any of my dogs as I have with Bella, beef intolerance etc. Think she just has a sensitive belly.
Bye the way I forgot my password at work and had to sign up again... Previously I was Riverhaven Bella

Re: Please help
Went back to vet and her temp has come down a bit but is still up. Blood taken and we get results tomorrow afternoon. She had her first poo for 2 days and it's sloppy still. Vet has now put her on Baytril tablets. 1/2 tablet a day. Just read Side effects are diarrhea, thirst etc. not what she needs now
