Hey all. My very first post on here so please be gentle lol!!

We picked up Poppy a week ago today. She's 10 weeks old now. I have had no problems with her whatsoever, apart from the usual puppy stuff which you expect. The last few days tho she has started showing some aggresion when i try to remove an item she has that she shouldn't....such as a sock, cable, hairbrush etc. Now i realise this is just a case of a puppy not realising that not everything is a toy and that I as her owner needs to learn her right from wrong by training etc.....sorry i'm warbling on here i know!

She's a Staffy / American bulldog cross....i guess i'm just looking for re-assurance that this is just "normal" puppy behaviour and not something specifically because of her mix?? All comments will be appreciated

Perfectly normal behaviour! A 10 week old puppy won't show aggression.

Sierra is 10 weeks on Wednesday and does the exact same thing! She growls and barks when I try and take something from her Laughing

i'm lucky with romeo, he doesnt growl or bark in protest.. but the bugger doesnt let go, talk about that staffy jaw power when you try and take something from him many days he ends up hanging in mid air while i try and shake him loose from my mop handle... he's mad crazy about sticks

Thanks everyone. Its nice to speak to those who know the breeds.....i have tried training her with treats alongside using the "leave" command.....so far so good Smile I have one son and three step-kids so just feel its important for them, as well as us and her to know that she has limits for want of a better word. Smile

What a gorgeous pup I was lucky with Ledger being a rescue that he doesn't touch things that aren't his but he will hang onto his kong stick etc like his life depends on it but mostly can be distracted with treats (P@H gravy biscuits are working wonders) or I have one of the mini kong balls which I keep in my pocket when we are on a walk and can distract him with the squeaking

Congrats and she looks lovely! Classes will help, but just keep going with the training you are doing and you will be pleasantly surprised with how fast she learns. They are rather stubborn though.
