Aylestone bulldogs?! Empty Aylestone bulldogs?!

Have been told lately about a breed of bulldog which has apparently had the health issues bred out of them that normal bulldogs have! If you google them lots of images and sites come up,they are similar to American bulldog size/boxer it looks in the pics, quite nice looking I think, have heard comments for and against them being bred though so I thought I would see what you people thought about them!

Bulldogs have been tweaked to such a standard its unhealthy.

Aylestone Bulldog is very different and not one I've heard off, ie 'French Bulldog' there really different too. Like Big Grin

Some lovely looking ones on google,I think people are trying to get then KC registered and they are £600 already so won't be cheap if they get recognized!! They look quite big but nice at the same time!

They're ok, but I prefer the Suffolk Bulldogs. They still look a bit like bulldogs instead of a mastiff cross.

They have absolutely no chance at all of KC recognition. They are not nearly stable enough as a breed. I applaud their trying to breed out the hereditary problems, though.

see I've heard the opinion that people shouldn't be breeding them as people will want to use them for fighting(presumably because of thier size) but not seen any evidence of it! I'm sure if the typical idiots owned one it wouldn't be long before it happened but the same could be said about alot of breeds! Gonna google the sulfolk now!

Looking at the websites, they couldn't be used for fighting because their temperament isn't right for it. They are friendly & not agressive. But I suppose anyone can breed bad temperament or create it as part of training. Sad

Yes, a guy my OH works with has one. They walk him to the end of the road & have to stop for him to catch his breath. He's only just over 3 years old!
