TV ?

Ok, so I'm gonna buy a new telly prob next w/end ... I've narrowed it down to a 40" LED, with Freview HD (not too bothered about 3D, or SMART) ... but I'm wondering if I'm putting too much effort into lookin for the highest refresh rate I can for my budget

I've seen a nice Samsung thats about 400quid with a refresh rate of 50htz, and they do another that looks pretty much the same, but has a refresh rate of 100htz but is 200squid more .. how much better/smoother will the picture be ?

have you got a makro card?

there was a 40" samsung tv there for £250 you have to add VAT on that

tho I'm gonna get the lot all at once, telly, blueray, and a soundbar with sub .. so will prob go to a high street lecky shop and get a pay monthly deal on the lot

to tell the truth unless your going to be playing xbox or ps3 games on it you wont see a great differance between 50htz and 100htz as most programs are recorded for 50htz and games mostly 60htz

I think Comets may well be having sale pretty soon, wait for that and see what they have.

Comets are going into liquidation so all the stock will have to be sold off.

That did cross my mind Kathy ... tho not sure how I'd go on when they go t1ts up if anything went wrong with the stuff

You still have the 12 months warranty through the manufacturer any way they are legally obliged to honour that

It might also be worth looking at John Lewis, they do a 5 year guarantee which is included on all TV's:

comets sale at the moment is rubbish there only discounting 10% and as there still going to be trading for a minimum 9 months by the time it comes to closing the doors (if that happens)there wont be great chances of good bargains .
Google clearance bargains there depots dotted around the country were argos sell off there surplus stock and the saving can be unreal im talking £1000 tv for £400/£500

I popped into Comets earlier and saw that they are only giving 10% discount, I couldn't believe it. I would have thought it would have been more. One of Rockys friends Dads works there and he is now looking for another job. He sounded so disappointed with it all, and just before Christmas too.
