patella - Luxating Patella Operation Empty Luxating Patella Operation

Hi, Last Friday Bella who is 13 months old had an operation to her Patella. She's coping quite well and I'm a bit worried that she is overdoing it. She is carried to the back yard and only walks to go to the toilet and a few steps around the house. We crate her at night with her bucket on her head and she hates it. She has tried to jump up on the bed and looks like she wants to get up on the lounge. She is touching the tip of her toe on the ground now and then and has been since first day ( today is the 3rd day). Would like to know if anyone else has gone through the rehab and was the operation successful. The vet thought she may have had to have it pinned but that wasn't required once he had dug out more bone in her knee the knee went back to the correct position, he also tightened up her ligaments... Fingers crossed it works

our girl Ruby had it done 10 years ago.

She has since passed away but her operation was successful.

The only problem we had was the vet taking the stitches out too early, the wound split open on the way home from the vet.

Having the operation slowed her down for a while but she recovered fine.

Thanks Alexk, She has to wait for 14 days to have the stitches out and she

wears her bucket only in her crate as she hates it .. How long did it take for Dear

Ruby to use her leg normally again.
