Hi I'm new!!
Hi
My name is Helen and I live in Hampshire along with my rescue Staffy Freddie and elderly crossbreed Kerris.
Freddie is my first Staffy - I've always had Bull Terriers before but I lost my last Bullie the Christmas before last due to cancer.
I didn't intend on ever getting a Staffy - I took Freddie in as a foster as he had been in the rescue centre where I work for over a year and a half after being handed in as a stray. He was slowly going crazy in kennels - chasing his tail and obsessively licking the walls and himself. He started not eating and then began guarding his kennel. The committee decided the kindest thing would be to put him to sleep. I couldn't let him die as I had grown so fond of him despite his issues!
I took him in as a foster determined to prove he was re-homable. Yes he was a pain in the butt the first few months but now after lots of socialisation, patience and ground-rules he is a lovable dog whom I adore! He gets on so well with Kerris my crossbreed girl and finally last month I signed his adoption papers so he is now legally mine!! I looked at him one day and realised I could never let him go as I loved him far too much and he seems to love me!!
Freddie wasn't my first foster - I have fostered over 50 dogs (mainly BT's) over the last 10 years but he is only the second one I've kept so that just proves how special he is!!
Although I will always love Bull Terriers and am hoping to adopt a rescue girlie later in the year as a friend for Freddie, Staffy's have me hooked!! They are such characterful little dogs and so intelligent - I doubt Freddie will be my last!!
Anyway that's enough waffling on for now!
Looking forward to looking round the forum.

Hi from one bully-maniac to another! Welcome to the forum.
As Carly says, I have a BT now (that's him in the avatar) and had a staffy before him. They're wonderful breeds, both of them.
