Tank is sick
He's been fine all day, then thus evening he's been sick bringing up all his dinner.
He's sleeping in his crate shaking. He won't come out. I managed to coax him into the kitchen for a treat but he spat it out and scurried bk to his crate,
He dosent feel hot, ears are cool to touch. I wanna give my baby a cuddle but he won't come out

Re: Tank is sick
Awww, poor boy! Probably got a little bug. Is drinking ok?
Starve him till the morning & then try tempting him with some scrambled or boiled & mashed eggs. Hopefully he'll be feeling a lot better after a night's rest.

Nope all the same...
But he did gobble a bit of random poop off the ground before I saw it ...

Re: Tank is sick
Percy managed to eat some sheep poo a while back that had the same effect on him, sickness and the runs, shakey and crying i took him to the vets and they suggested 12hr starve, then rice/egg etc for a day, gradually building him back onto his food...gave us some paste that helps there tummy
Hope he feels better soon. X ><

Re: Tank is sick
Well, he made it onto my bed at about 1am. He didn't move all night. Let him out for a pee n poop this morning. Normal poop but sifter than usual.
Gave him scrambled eggs for breakfast with a splash of water to get some fluids in him.
Half hour later he was sick and bought up about a mouthful.
Other than that he is very quiet, and wants to just sleep.
Do u think I should starve him till thus evening now ?
I don't wanna rush to the vets if it's just tlc that he needs for a cpl of days.
He's alert, and still managed to chase our cat this morning.

Edit:
He's beating the crap out of Diesel now ! Bloody dogs...

Re: Tank is sick
If he's still lively & only brought up a small amount, I'd just keep an eye on him. Maybe a light eveing meal of chicken & rice or potato?

If he's well enough to beat up Diesel I wouldn't be overly concerned. Tilly has been off over the last couple of days not eating so much and sulking (although I know staffies can't sulk ?????)

Hiya Lynne
Think he's on the mend. He's had steamed chicken and potatoe about 30mins ago and so far he's kept it down.
Actually just caught him trying to hump Diesels head ! Stoopid boy so I reckon he's feelin a bit better.
I will prolly make him scrambled eggs for breakfast again (and some for me!)
Xx

Re: Tank is sick
Hmmm he was fine last night.
But he's just had really runny poop and didn't want to eat breakfast.
He's sitting in his crate looking really sad

Re: Tank is sick
Ohh noo.. I don't have any experience in this, Steff hasn't been sick yet and I'm dreading if she does.. It must be such a worry for you.. Do you think it is time for a trip to the vet yet? it's been a couple of days now, but always different symptons hey?

Re: Tank is sick
I'm gonna ring the vet later for advise.
I'm wondering if I tried offering his food too soon..
He's just had a big drink of water so at least he's hydrated.
Will let u know what the vet says x

Re: Tank is sick
No sickness since yesterday and no runny poop since this morning...
He's eaten normal lunch and dinner, kept it down and seems more 'waggy tailed' now which is great !
I reckon he's given me a few more grey hairs tho !! X

Re: Tank is sick
Great news, got back from visiting my parents tonight went for a quick walk and Ledger was sick on the way round and put it down to him eating something that I hadn't seen but then got home and as I was about to put his tea down he threw up again and was insistent on telling me that he needed to go out again so out we went for another walk 20mins and a single pee later we got home I shut the front door and he promptly threw up again. In a previous life he has clearly been punished when he has been ill so i hate to see him cowering and looking guilty.
He has had nothing to eat tonight despite looking longingly at my parsnip soup and has been cwtched up to me on the sofa sleeping apart from when the local pubs firework display was on when he was more distressed than normal. All is calm now though and his ears are finally warm again so heres hoping for a good night and he can have some scrambled egg for breakfast
