Loki and Barney (Pics and Story)

My cousin's ex-wife, her boyfriend and kids are on holiday, so my cousin was asked to look after the dog, Barney. He's a 13 year old Shar Pei cross who is deaf and only has one eye due to being attacked last year by an off-lead dog. Basically, the people who own him are idiots who neglect him, so now when they get back we plan on guilt-tripping them into making the effort with him. We'll be walking him still though. He hadn't been for a walk in years apparently, so the past week he's been having his own holiday finally being outside. Anyway, I went with them today and brought Loki along. After the initial excitement, they walked really well together, very calmly. We let them off the lead in an empty tennis court so Barney could have a good run around (he hasn't been off the lead for god knows how long), and he and Loki played for a bit. Barney got a bit annoyed at Loki, so we put them back on their leads. They were still happy to walk next to each other, and we're taking them back tomorrow, so hopefully they'll have another play and we can watch how they do anyway, here are the pics (sorry for the very long story ):

Ahhh, Barney is gorgeous, we take Rocky into the tennis courts at our local park, thats where we did his very first recall training the day we got him, and we managed to get back in there today too for a game of chase. The tennisters are usually in there so its a change to get the place to ourselves for a play.

Would if I could it was great seeing him again, I hadn't seen him in 10 years, I didn't even know he was still alive. So sad how crap they're treating him though, but we'll put that right. Taking him and Loki out again tomorrow, so I'll get more pics then, hopefully better ones

Yeah I hope it works too, he didn't even have a bed or anything to lie on, so we've given him what Loki lies on when he's in the car. Poor guy, at his age especially they should just be taking it easy and enjoying comfort. Well, I love him and so does Loki, so if they continue being idiots, we'll just have to walk him ourselves, we won't mind

Aww bless him hes lovely, what an amazingly rich colour red he is. Looks like he had a great time. I bet he loved being out in the fresh air. Doesn't look like he appreciated Loki jumping on his head though! Haha!
