Hello Smile glad you are in love with the sbt so are we
These dogs are brilliant with family children and if socialized and brought up with other dogs then usually fine with them, but they can be dominant and you really have to know the about the breed before you commit but we are all crazy about them Big Grin

Yes I think if you get a little bitch they will be good together as you said your jrt is submissive getting a dog could still cause problems with dominance

Hi and welcome.

Molly is absolutely brilliant with the family, especially younger children, she is so and like a totally different dog.
If she hears a baby cry she will try and find it, and if she sees one crying she'll sit in front of it and just stare with her ears pricked up.
I can't really comment on whether they are good with other dogs, Molly is a little hit and miss, she grew up with a lab, who she loves, but other dogs she's a little more cautious around.

Hi, welcome!

Staffs are usually very intelligent & respond well to reward training. I'd get a bitch if I were you, as a dog can be a handful, especially if it's your first staff!

Will you be getting a pup, or a rescue dog?

Hi & welcome to the forum
I'd do as already stated and get a female staffy.
Keep us informed and get us some pics as soon as you get her.

Hiya and welcome to the forum.

As said above, I would get a bitch to go with your male.

Staffs are amaxing family dogs. I have 3 children and my boy is fantastic with them. He's just a pup so young himself yet has so much patience with my children, even when my three yeard old son is trying to wrestle with him and gettiing him into headlocks!!

Charlie is my first staffy and I am completely hooked, I wouldn't own any other breed now, staffies are truly wonderful pets.
