what do you do with the poo?
My husband and I are trying to figure out a better way to get scoop and dispose of poo from the garden. Right now we use a little gardening trowel and carry it into the house and flush down the toilet. Seems a bit unsanitary to walk all through the house with a trowel full of poo though. But if we got a pooper scooper sort of thing like this:

same effect - carrying a trowel full of poo through the house.

No, I shouldn't think she would wear it - it's so yesterday's fashion!

Yep, same here.

Re: what do you do with the poo?
I have a dedicated shovel and broom for the garden and yard, and deposit it straight into the wheelie bin.
On a walk, I use tissue and find the nearest bin, or recycle a supermarket bag.

Re: what do you do with the poo?
I bag it with nappy bags and collect it then stick it in the trash every week for collection.
You shouldn't flush it down the toilets as it is 'stickier' than human poop and sticks to pipes !

Our local council says that you should either
a. bag it & put it in the dog poo bins,
b. double bag it & put it in the public street bins
c. double bag it & put it in your wheelie bin or
d. flush it down the toilet!

Re: what do you do with the poo?
kind of pain to keep bringing it around to the bin, i guess we could put a bin under the deck with a black bin bag and put it in there then put it out with the weekly garbage (sorry, i'm American) pick up...
that's probably a much better idea that tracking it through the house.
thanks for the ideas. don't know why we can't come up with this stuff on our own LOL

If you're in America there are a couple of companies that will come to your house and clean it up if you think it's too much of a hassle: http://www.doodycalls.com/ http://www.poop911.com/ http://www.pooperoni.com/

Re: what do you do with the poo?
after reading the above
Heres what I do,
In the summer I put them in poo bags and put in the garden waste bin. In the winter, as we dont have a garden waste bin service, I put all in poo bags, and take over the canal lock to the doggie poo bin. I am very lucky to have that close by, however I didnt know you could put it in the general rubbish recycle bin, so I might do that instead now

if you go on the governent website it actually tells you to dispose of it down the toilet rather than putting it in everyday waste

Re: what do you do with the poo?
we collect it in poopy bags and at the end of our road there are dedicated dog waste bins ...i prefer this as i didnt like the poo coming into the house on the trowel and down the toilet

Re: what do you do with the poo?
We just bag it, as we would when out on a walk. The bag then goes in a separate small bin with a sealed lid, then into the wheelie bin on the morning they come to collect it.

Re: what do you do with the poo?
We got one of those 'loos' that you bury and put the poo in, every week you flush it with water and add a chemical. Sounded great - dont bother its rubbish - spent an hour last weekend scooping out mushy poo and flushing it through - yuck. Back to recycling supermarket carriers and into the bin : )
