Tea?
A couple of people have told me that giving dogs a cup of tea once in a while ( without milk or sugar!) Is good for their coats and is a little treat for them...Is this true??

Re: Tea?
If we have a cup of tea in the evening and leave our almost empty cups and saucers on the table beside the sofa, someone does like to help themselves to the little bit left in the bottom of the cup. It doesn't happen very often though, dont get the chance of an evening cuppa that often.

Re: Tea?
Dogs tend to love tea, and in the 'old days' I knew lots of people who would give their dogs a cuppa in the morning. I have read it's not great for them, and haven't given any to Dexter just in case but I doubt a little tiny bit without sugar etc would hurt. They only need fresh water, but I bet they adore the chance for something a bit tastier bless them.

Re: Tea?
Had this conversation a few weeks ago with a behaviourist as she had a client who's dog kept stealing their cups of tea Can't imagine it would be any good for them at all with all of the caffeine and possibly sugar too.. As Caryll said I've heard green tea is good though, and also chamomile is meant to be good for their teeth so I'm told!

Re: Tea?
I'll carry on with the Carlsberg as a treat then if the tea's no good (Just kidding BTW ) Tommy is happy enough with more water as long as he's drinking it from Mummy's glass it's naughty so it's a treat

Re: Tea?
green tea is good, normal tea isn't as it generally contains to much caffeine which isn't good for dogs

Re: Tea?
A little bit off topic, but my dad has 2 Austraian shepards, buddy who is 10 and skid who is 6, he phoned yesterday to tell me a little story that would make me laugh as I'm always sharing Percy's crazy antics with him....he had (stupidly) left a bag on the stairs that had tea bags, coffee in sachets and sugar in sachets in. Went to work and skid decided to eat the contents of the bag.....he had brown stained paws from the tea and coffee and spent the whole evening on a caffeine/sugar buzz zooming around the house being very mischievous.
Really made me giggle
