That's just terrible - poor dog. I hope he recovers fully (mentally as well as physically).

I hope that whoever did this gets suitably punished - I know what I'd do if it was up to me .....

Poor little scrap! If indeed it was the owner, why on earth didn't he hand the dog in to a rescue. If it wasn't the owner and supposedly the person the owner gave the dog to, then why have the dog in the first place. Only one solution whichever way you look at it. Dig a six foot hole and push!!
