Police, what are yours like?
I have to say i love them. I have never had a bad encounter with them (so much so that they didn't even do me for driving with no lights lol) I know a lot of the cops and they are lovely. Im on their FB page and we have a lot of jokes and banter, it's not all serious. Cops are people too. I respect them a hell of a lot more because of it.

Have to say ours take 2 days to respond to anything , however , we have fortunately not been in the position where we have desperately needed them.

Ours aren't as bad as some. I know two of them (a pc and a chief inspector) personally through the church so if I get any problems I name drop!
They don't come out for things, though, and several stopped me to ask if Dempsey was a pitbull when he was a youngster!

My hubby reported an incident that happened outside our home in December 2009, police said they would send a uniform out to deal with it, we are still waiting to see them. I'll leave it there.

England seems worse than here then! I have the local police number and can get them any time. They're great for advice. I even had dealings with them over a few dogs (I transferred the dogs from pound to police station) and the man who dealt with me stood and talked to me for 30mins about rubbish an told me a few things he prob shouldnt have haha

Also when Lexi was stolen they were on it immediately and didn't just say "we'll see how it goes" I was very happy with them

Police here are unfortunately synonymous with corruption and apt to abuse their power. Really sad state of affairs. Never mind drinking and driving' women travelling alone at night are simply just not safe as harassment from police is par for the course. So sad when law abiding citizens are afraid of their police force

Re: Police, what are yours like?
Well not had any run ins since ive lived in the south so cannot comment on there police force.
But wheh i lived in my home city norwich my parents had too call the police several times for several reasons including a neighbour was being harrassed by her ex and she had a son with learning difficulties and the bloke had cut phone lines, brick through the window etc and it took several days for police too arrive absolutely discusting imo, another was when a horrid neighbour was kicking the s*** out of his drinking buddy (not the first time) my mum called the police they took ages too get there in the end my mum went up and got involved. The police up there are useless, only time you get any repsonse is when you say that you think they have a gun or knife then they turn up in there thousands.

Don't have an opinion of them, never had any interaction with them really. But I'd say they're OK compared to in other parts of the world where the police force is full of corruption and abuse of power and innocent people are hurt/killed. So not bad.
