Hello & Help
hi. my gorgeous staffy is 9, nearly 10, year old girl called Sheba. She is my little shadow. She loves going out for walks & I also take her with me when I go running. Having a few problems with her at the moment when I'm running. When I stop to stretch or finish the run and start to walk to cool down, Sheba starts to try and bite my feet! She's not growling or being aggressive, its as if she just can't control herself & that she's so excited that she can't cope with slowing down or stopping. Anybody else experienced this or have any ideas on how I can stop this behaviour!

Re: Hello & Help
Hi and welcome from us and Suki. What command did you use when she was a pup to get her to stop nipping?

Re: Hello & Help
Thanks for all your welcomes! I only got Sheba when she was 3 so never went through the puppy stage with her. Its seems nothing I say stops her, I just end dragging her off with my friends help & then trying to calm her down. I don't really want to have to stop taking her with me cos she absolutely loves it(as long as I don't stop running!!!)

Re: Hello & Help
We typically use a NO BITE or AH to get Suki to quit. Really anything will work as long as you are consistant and patient

Re: Hello & Help
Hi and welcome to you and sheba, if it wasn't bad enough to have hot tired feet and then to have Sheba biting them!! You must be hopping about on the spot!! Personally I think I would take some treats, tell her to sit and give her one, hopefully that will divert her attention from your toes

Re: Hello & Help
Hi & welcome.
It sounds like she getting throroughly over excited.
If she's food crazy then take some treats & get her to do one or two sumple obedience exercises for a couple of treats.
If she's not fussed about treats, then try taking a squeeky toy to divert her attention away from your feet.
