I have a runner
So, I found this trail by my house that runs between a highway and golf course. The trail is enclosed by fences on both sides as well as trees and brush. Not many people around on this trail and I found it the perfect place for me to give off-lead training a try with Bacon. The first to days were great, he would run ahead, sniff around and stop when he got too far from me.
Well, this weekend I went out with him again and he seemed to be testing the distance he put between me and him. On our way back he decides to venture off into the trees and brush which is fine because he normally pops back out when I call, but this time he ran through all the trees, up a small hill, squeezed through the gates in the fence and dissapeared!!! I panicked because I was not sure if the fence led to the golf course or a road that runs near the golf course. My next problem was figuring out how to get through the trees and hop the fence. There was no space between trees to walk through so I had to just barrel my way through the trees just to get to the fence. So, I make it to the fence and am a little relieved that it leads to the golf course. Luckily i was able to hop the fence and start yelling out "Bacon" and finally he comes running back and jumps up to greet me like he did nothing wrong! The golfers all stopped and stared... Probably wondering where the hell I came from and why I was screaming for Bacon. Getting back onto the trail was just as fun and so was cleaning all the pine tree dust off of me!
Needless to say, it's back to the long lead for Bacon! Anyways, i'm sure everyone has a similar experience but it's too funny not to share since it ended good, sort of...

I would have loved to see the golfers faces whilst you pop out of the bushes like a crazy man screaming bacon! Priceless

Believe it or not, this is one of the reasons I wanted to name my dog Bacon. I imagined it would be funny for other people to hear me yell for Bacon! It worked better than I'd imagined.

Eggs and Bacon! I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it. Bacon by himself is enough for me right now!
Yesterday he was at it again. I was looking for something on the top shelf of the refrigerator and when I finally looked down he's got his face in a cake that was on the bottom shelf.
