We have a friend who owns a staffy x dog, Sabre who is lovely, and we have planned to walk Dex and Sabre together at some point as a regular thing just waiting to start intros etc. My friend decides to call on us this pm, without calling in advance which would have been ok had he told me through the door he had Sabre with him! Opened the door, as oh opens lounge door too and Dexter goes barrelling out straight into a dog he's never met before...eeek!

You would think they were long lost lovers! They had an enthusiastic hello as we tried to get Dex in to at least pop the harness on and try for a more controlled meeting, then gave each other a proper loving greeting and shared a couple of treats. Really glad that went ok, could have killed my friend!

My heart went into my mouth!!!! It is a good job they are both soppy dogs but you just never know, had visions of all sorts flash through my mind. It was all very tail waggy and slobbery, as opposed to bity snarly oh my f'in god what is happening Laughing

I kept calm in front of the dogs, then phoned him when they left and tore a slight strip off him Smile He blamed poor judgement and a birthday party last night where he apparently left half of his brain cells Laughing

I don't think he will be that daft again though, I impressed upon him that we were very lucky with how it panned out!

Yikes that could have easily gone very wrong, usually if people are calm dogs are calm too, just keep your wits about you and you should be fine.
